The Old City of Jerusalem on Friday

Today I took a train from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. It is amazing how many people live, shop and work in such a crowded place. Sometimes it is hard to walk and sometimes you just go where everyone else is going because it is easier. I did not have a lot of time to spend in the city because tonight at sundown it is the Sabbath or Shabbat, the day of rest. Shabbat starts at sundown on Friday until the appearance of three stars in the sky on Saturday night. So not only does most of the Old City close their shops and cafes, the trains stop running too. So I had to leave early or be stranded in Jerusalem. It was fun to get back again and see some things that had interested me on my last trip. It is truly an amazing place.

So here are a few photographs from today.

Jerusalem

I found this shirt in a store in the Old City. (Didn't buy it though. It was 50 Shekels!)

Another day in Tel Aviv

The puppy got some sun today out on the balcony. He was very happy. He might go to Jerusalem tomorrow on a train. I saw some sailboat races today from the hotel. Very cool. The last picture is of Daniel. I work with him but he lives here in Israel.
